Thioether Dendritic Acrylate Oligomers
Thioether Dendritic acrylate oligomers mimic the performance of dendrimers, star- or ball-shaped polymers that are built up layer by layer, without all of the cost. Dendritics are more spherical than rod-shaped, and because of their spherical shape, they have significantly lower viscosity than typical linear oligmers of comparable molecular weights.
Dendritics in UV-Curable Coatings
Dendritic oligomers are hyper-branched polymer networks that can be polymerized to themselves and to other monomers or oligomers. They have a high functionality, ≥18. Typically, dendritic oligomers would be used at 35 to 70% by weight in formulations. They may also have some use as additives at lower levels.
